Notification System Foundation
The Notification Systems Foundation course focuses on
the daily tasks you perform with your Altiris solutions. In this highly
technical class, you will learn the essential setup and configuration
options available with Altiris Notification Server™ 6.0 software as well as
best practices for network design, package server configuration, and Web
report generation. You will also learn how to perform core processes,
including collecting inventory and distributing software. Other skills and
knowledge you’ll learn include creating Web reports and learning how to
troubleshoot, configure, and build an effective environment. Hands-on labs
throughout the class help solidify concepts so you feel confident applying
Altiris infrastructure concepts in your organization.
Advanced
Notification Server Core Workshop
Learn how to maintain, tune, and troubleshoot Altiris Notification
Server software in the Advanced Notification Server Core Workshop course.
This course focuses on the core elements of Notification Server, including
Notification Server components and process flow. Advanced troubleshooting
techniques and the Altiris database are the main focus of the workshop
hands-on sessions. Note: Because this is an advanced course, you must
have prior experience with Notification Server.
Deployment Solution Foundation
Whether you are setting up new computers, migrating computers to new
operating systems, moving users to new operating systems or hardware, or
installing and managing software application, Altiris Deployment Solution™
software can simplify your work. In the Deployment Solution Foundation
course, you learn how to install, configure, and use Deployment Solution to
remotely perform all of these types of tasks from an easy-to-use console,
saving you time and your company money. The class provides extensive
hands-on work with Deployment Solution using your own network of virtual
computers.
Client Management Suite Certification Boot Camp
Want to accelerate your learning about Altiris

Client Management Suite Certification Boot Camp. This intense, one-week boot
camp combines content from two-week-long Altiris training courses:
Notification System Foundation and Deployment Solution Foundation.
Helpdesk Solution - Administration & Configuration
Learn to use many of the features, functions, and processes of Altiris
Helpdesk Solution™ software. This hands-on class enhances your ability to
create and integrate business rules that let you devise a consistent
response to help desk incidents, establish and maintain help desk service
within IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards, use best practices to
manage help desk incidents and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) related
to incident management, and effectively manage, report, and resolve help
desk issues. You leave class with the knowledge and skills needed to
confidently manage your enterprise’s help desk.
Asset and Contract Management Foundation
This 3-day, instructor-led, hands-on class focuses on the daily tasks and
maintenance IT professionals and Altiris administrators will perform with
their Altiris solutions. This includes, use configuration management
database (CMDB), assess resource and asset inventory, manage contracts, and
monitor and manage software compliance.
Application Streaming and Virtualization with SVS
This 4-day, instructor-led, hands-on class focuses on the daily tasks system
administrators responsible for supporting application virtualization will
perform. This includes full discussions and lab exercises on SVS layers, and
management of applications from the server.
Workflow Solution
Foundation
The Symantec Workflow Solution Foundation course is designed for the
professional tasked with installing, designing, and building workflows. This
4-day, instructor-led, hands-on class covers concepts and teaches how to
build simple to more detailed projects. Students will also learn how to
analyze and break down business processes in preparation for building
workflows. Many hands-on labs and exercises will increase students'
expertise in designing and deploying a Workflow solution.
Repackaging with Wise Package Studio
Learn to use the robust features, functions, processes, and underlying
technology of Wise Package Studio® software in the Repackaging with Wise
Package Studio class. This hands-on class enhances your installation
creation and troubleshooting abilities, and offers practical tips for using
the product. You leave class with the knowledge and skills needed to align
your organization’s repackaging projects with industry standards and to
produce error-free repackaged applications.
Advanced Wise
Package Studio
This 4-day, instructor-led, hands-on class focuses on the daily tasks that
system administrators will perform when repackaging applications with Wise
Package Studio. This includes creating, installating, and troubleshooting
packages, as well as applying security to packages, and applying best
practices to align enterprise repackaging projects with industry standards.
